Donut Review: Peter Pan's Red Velvet

Mrs. B and I are on vacation in Vermont for a bit. We will visit the Ben and Jerry's Flavor Graveyard which is surrounded by a white plastic picket fence and contains fake gravestones for - among others - Devil's Food Chocolate and Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz , the later of which has a Facebook thread devoted to bringing it back. So far there are six posts. While away Blognut correspondant Marc has stepped in with his take on the enticing Red Velvet from Peter Pan in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, my favorite donut spot in New York.

Purveyor: Peter Pan Donut and Pastry Shop, Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Donut: Red Velvet cake donut

Review: Imagine a really good chocolate cake donut with a light, sweet glaze. Now imagine it redder.

Conclusion: Unlikely to be distinguishable from a standard chocolate cake donut in a blind taste test. If you love chocolate cake donuts and are (a) not alarmed by intense food coloring, or (b) inclined to eat your donuts blindfolded, I wholeheartedly recommend this donut for you.

Ed. Note: Where's the cream cheese frosting? Also, thanks Marc.

I am the sort of guy who enjoys to taste revolutionary stuff. Presently I'm building my own photovoltaic panels. I'm managing it all by myself without the aid of my men. I'm using the internet as the only path to acheive this. I came across a really amazing website which explains how to contruct photovoltaic panels and so on. The site explains all the steps involved in solar panel construction.

I'm not sure about how precise the info given there iz. If some people over here who have xp with these works can have a see and give your feedback in the site it will be grand and I'd highly value it, cause I extremely take an interest in solar panel construction.

Tnx for reading this. U guys are great.

Since you are doughnut aficianados, I will tell you about the best doughnuts and where to find them. They are made of all natural ingredients, which makes them a healthier doughnut, as well.

In Birmingham, Alabama, there is a little shop in a parking lot of pot holes to China. It is called Shipley's Doughnuts. They are made fresh and the variety is not outstanding, but the product is superb. By the way, there is a large eastern European population in Birmingham and yes, they, too serve kolaches - a variety of them. They have coffee, but usually we do a progressive breakfast and stop at Starbucks in Vestavia for our choice. Then we travel south on Hwy. 31 and in Vestavia/Hoover, we go through the light at the Chevron on the corner on our right and turn left after The Golden Rule BBQ. The shop is at the end of the road.

You missed the best doughnut place ever and it is in my little town of Lakewood,Wa. Called "Lakewood doughnuts" they are the best. I have had doughnuts from around the world and they even beat Randy's in California. If you get a chance come by and try them. Our town is between Olympia and Tacoma next to Steilacoom one of the oldest towns in Washingtion.
